Single Name No Longer Accepted by UAE Government for Inbound/Outbound Flights

Effective immediately, passengers holding passports with one name (single name) will not be accepted by the UAE government for inbound and outbound flights. This does not apply to transit passengers.

Due to this change, passengers may be impacted. To enable our Trade Partners to self-service impacted tickets, SIA is issuing a global waiver policy as below.

1. Eligibility Criteria (Must fulfil all conditions)
a. Applicable for Singapore Airlines 618 tickets issued before/on 02 December 2022.
b. Travel itinerary contains SIA-operated flights to/from Dubai (DXB), UAE.
c. Passenger’s passport contains a single name. (Please refer to the below)




2. What is waived
a. Full refund (including ancillaries) will be accorded if the passenger falls within the eligibility criteria.
b. Re-routing is permitted with change fees waived. Fare differences (if any) must be collected.

3. Procedure for waiver
a. For GDS bookings

  • For refunds, insert the waiver code (provided below) into the remarks section.
  • For reissuance, insert the waiver code (provided below) into the endorsement box.

b. For NDC bookings, please contact your local Sales Ops / Sales teams to assist with the refund.
